In order to ensure the up and down coordination of the teeth and the bilateral symmetry, the most common mode of extraction is to remove four double canines (one for each of the upper, lower, left and right). Removal of the four double canines for treatment will not affect the function and health of the teeth. However, it is generally impossible to remove the fangs (tiger teeth).
